I failed to present to you my opinion of X2 beyond that it left me disappointed, which isn't to say I didn't like it. I'm going to say just a little more on the newest geekbuster movie, The Matrix Reloaded.

After reading so many neutral or negative geek-source reviews of this movie, I was ready to just skip seeing it in the theater. Instead, and through no initiative of my own, I ended up seeing it twice in two days.

I have arbitrarily decided that the stupid things in this movie (because, face it, every movie has a metric pantload of stupid things) do not make the movie itself stupid. I enjoyed it. Most of the complaints people have are true, but I simply don't think they take away from the movie. Matrix has always been full of pseudo-philosophical armchair Zen, and Matrix Reloaded continues this. After two viewings and a bunch of discussions, a number of theories and insights have come up... any number of which could be dashed to hell by Matrix Revolutions, which has the potential to drastically alter my opinion of The Matrix in general simply because it represents the final pay-off to everything that may or may not have been set up in the first two movies.

In short, it seems I can no longer trust the geek grapevine for movie reviews.

To further alienate you with my taste in movies, I also find Street Fighter: The Movie quite enjoyable, provided you expect it to suck.

...But nothing can save Mortal Kombat Annihilation, the only movie I've openly mocked in the theater.
